Counselor Newsletter

For this year, I am trying something new.  A newsletter.  This is an attempt to increase parent awareness with the counseling program in our schools.  Our program would be even more effective if parents were included.  Therefore, I have come up with a way that I hope will be be effective.  In my newsletter, it has a note from me, a tid-bit about the counseling program and my goal for the year, the lessons I will be teaching for the first half of the year, and a place for parents to sign and have the student bring back to me for a prize.  In order to get a prize, the parent and student must have had a discussion about the topic listed.  The topic is going to be the first lesson I will teach in the classroom in which I will hand out this newsletter to take home.  I hope this will help parents be more involved and help me help their child!  I will give an update about the outcome as the year goes by.
